Facebook Live Map, 2016

Livestream

Performance

The Facebook Live Map is a function that satisfies people's desire to eavesdrop and is also a new marketing tool to showcase one's personality to the world. The interactive map displays active levels of live streaming in different countries as blinking dots. The size of the dot is determined by timing and exposure, attracting more viewers. However, this feature also exposes personal data without any security mechanism.

During the experiment, it was found that the map was inactive in Prague. In an attempt to showcase oneself on the map, the data and live stream settings were changed to public to determine how to do so.
